  • Science Instructor for 2025-26

    Science Instructor
     
    Houston Christian High School (HC) is accepting applications for the position of Science Instructor for the 2025-26 academic year. This position reports to the Science Department Chair and Principal and works in collaboration with other Science Teachers and Faculty. This is a full-time, exempt position. Experience in teaching different levels of High School Science is beneficial. The specific teaching assignment will be determined according to department needs. 
     
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree, in Education, Science, or other relevant area.
    • Teacher certification or equivalent preferred.
    • Classroom Experience.
    • Proficient in basic technology applications, specifically Google Apps knowledge (i.e. Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail).
    • Excellent verbal, visual, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Counselor for 2025-26

    Counselor
    Houston Christian High School (HCHS) is accepting applications for the position of Counselor. The Counselor, under the direction of the Counseling and College Guidance Director,  communicates with students on academic, spiritual, and personal matters and is available to serve students and parents with up-to-date college information and application processes. The Counselor supports the Counseling Department team and all Counseling events, working in collaboration with all administrators, staff,  and faculty.  This is a full-time and exempt position. 

    ​QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:
    • Master’s degree  in counseling or a related area or Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience.
    • Experience with private or public school counseling.
    • Classroom teaching experience is beneficial.
    • Knowledge and experience guiding students through the college guidance and application process.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • High level of integrity, diplomacy, credibility, and ethical conduct.
    • Flexibility, sense of humor, and willingness to assist with administrative tasks in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Gift Specialist

    Gift Specialist
     
    Houston Christian High School (HC) is now accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Gift Specialist. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. This position is responsible for the Donor database and communications under the direction of the Director of Development and works in collaboration with the Development Team on all Development events. This position is responsible for gift entry to ensure that all donations and pledges are accurately recorded into the donor database, reconciled with the Business Office, followed by timely gift recognition and database management to ensure accurate donor information for routine and special reports. This position requires close attention to detail. 

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum of two years gift processing and data management experience, Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred.
    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of charitable gift regulations and reporting standards (CASE guidelines and IRS rules and regulations).
    • Strong keyboarding skills and familiarity with database reporting and management.
    • Proficient in basic technology applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel). Google Apps knowledge is beneficial (i.e. Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail).
    • Exhibit excellent verbal, visual, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Development Senior Associate

    Development Senior Associate
     
    Houston Christian is accepting applications for Development Senior Associate. The Development Senior Associate is responsible for planning and implementing the annual giving program (The Mustang Fund) and supporting the annual giving events (the golf tournament, the annual gala, and scholarship program) by securing underwriting and sponsorships via leading year-round solicitations and campaigns to diverse constituents to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors. 

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor’s degree and minimum three years of fundraising experience in annual fund or equivalent with a proven track record. 
    • Demonstrated success in fundraising project management, grant writing, and volunteer management. 
    • Communicates comfortably with school representatives, parents, students, alumni, and representatives from the business community.
    • Self-starting and able to multitask.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    This position will develop strategies and campaigns (giving for alumni, faculty, staff, community stakeholders, etc.) to secure contributions and manages stewardship of annual donors in recognizing their support.  This role is also tasked with building meaningful and long-lasting relationships with parent volunteers including HC parent, grandparent, and alumni community. 
    Working under the direction of the Director of Development, the Development Senior Associate works in collaboration with the Development staff and members of the Advancement department, which includes Admissions, Marketing, and the Bush Center for Scholars and Leaders.

    Houston Christian High School (HC), a member of the Southwest Preparatory Conference, seeks qualified applicants for the position of Girls’ Lacrosse Assistant Coach. This is a part-time, seasonal position paid with a stipend. After school, evening and weekend hours will be necessary. 
     
    Applicants should have a comprehensive knowledge of the sport and coaching high school athletes. Successful candidates will demonstrate experience building a highly competitive program and the ability to successfully recruit middle school players. Coaches at HC promote sportsmanship, foster good character in student athletes, provide for the safety and welfare of all participants, and lead as a Christian role model in all settings. The Assistant Coach reports to the Head Coach and Athletic Director. Applicants shall embrace the athletic philosophy of the school and give full support to the multi-sport athlete.
     
    Minimum Requirements:
     
    Broad knowledge and skills in the principles and methods of program operations.
    Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
    Working knowledge of SPC policies and HC policies governing athletics.
    Understand and agree with the philosophy and mission of HC.
    Maintain an active Christian faith that is a role model for HC athletes and exemplifies the HC mission.
    Minimum of two years coaching experience preferred.
    Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
