  • Counseling Assistant

    COUNSELING ASSISTANT
     
    Houston Christian High School, is accepting applications for Counseling Assistant. This position performs administrative duties and manages logistics for the Counseling Office and serves as the initial contact person for the counseling office team. This is a full-time, non-exempt position and reports to the Counseling Director.  This position is open to be filled immediately.

    • Knowledge of website management, experience with Blackbaud is a positive asset.

  • Development Senior Associate

    Development Senior Associate
     
    Houston Christian is accepting applications for Development Senior Associate. The Development Senior Associate is responsible for planning and implementing the annual giving program (The Mustang Fund) and supporting the annual giving events (the golf tournament, the annual gala, and scholarship program) by securing underwriting and sponsorships via leading year-round solicitations and campaigns to diverse constituents to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors. 

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor’s degree and minimum three years of fundraising experience in annual fund or equivalent with a proven track record. 
    • Demonstrated success in fundraising project management, grant writing, and volunteer management. 
    • Communicates comfortably with school representatives, parents, students, alumni, and representatives from the business community.
    • Self-starting and able to multitask.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    This position will develop strategies and campaigns (giving for alumni, faculty, staff, community stakeholders, etc.) to secure contributions and manages stewardship of annual donors in recognizing their support.  This role is also tasked with building meaningful and long-lasting relationships with parent volunteers including HC parent, grandparent, and alumni community. 
    Working under the direction of the Director of Development, the Development Senior Associate works in collaboration with the Development staff and members of the Advancement department, which includes Admissions, Marketing, and the Bush Center for Scholars and Leaders.

  • Athletics Department Administrative Assistant

    Athletics Department Administrative Assistant

    Houston Christian is accepting applications for Athletics Department Administrative Assistant. This position supports all members, coaches and teams of the Athletic Department and manages the logistics of the department and reports to the Athletic Director.  This position may be combined with a coaching position, which may be compensated with an additional stipend. This is a full-time, twelve month,  non-exempt position and is open to be filled immediately. 

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 
    • Minimum of three years related experience.
    • Post secondary education or degree preferred. 
    • Strong knowledge of website management.
    • Strong customer service skills.
    • Blackbaud experience is beneficial.
    • Proficient in basic technology applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel). Google Apps knowledge is necessary(i.e. Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail).

  • Campus Security 

    Campus Security 

    Houston Christian (HC) is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Campus Security to begin immediately. The Campus Security position will coordinate with the Facilities Manager, and the Dean of Students to provide a safe and secure environment for students, visitors, and employees, by protecting and securing the campus, preventing or deterring crime, enforcing the campus security plan, and enforcing state and local laws. This is a full-time, non-exempt, 12 month position and reports to the Facilities Manager.
     
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • 2+ years experience working in a similar position for a school, large complex employer, military, and/or law enforcement experience.  The campus security officer is non-commissioned.
    • Must be organized, able to set priorities,  meet deadlines, multi-task and be a self-starter..  
    • Demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. 
    • Strongly prefer successful experience in supervision or safety planning, and work in a fluid, dynamic, environment.  
    • Proficient in basic technology applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel). Google Apps knowledge is necessary (i.e. Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail).
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively utilizing interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships with all school constituents.  
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations in which only limited standardization exists.  “Think on your feet.”
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Baseball Head Coach

    Boys’ Baseball Head Coach
     
    Houston Christian High School (HC), a member of the Southwest Preparatory Conference, seeks qualified applicants for the position of Boys’ Baseball Head Coach. This is a part-time, seasonal position but could be full-time with a teaching assignment. After school, evening and weekend hours will be necessary.
     
    Applicants should have a comprehensive knowledge of the sport, coaching high school athletes, and development of assistant coaches. Successful candidates will demonstrate experience building a highly competitive program and the ability to successfully recruit middle school players. Coaches at HC promote sportsmanship, foster good character in student athletes, provide for the safety and welfare of all participants, and lead as a Christian role model in all settings. The Boys’ Baseball Head Coach reports to the Athletic Director  and is responsible for the overall operations of the program, in and out of season. Additional duties of the head coach include working in coordination with the Athletic Director to manage program budget, supervise activities and promote positive community relations. Applicants shall embrace the athletic philosophy of the school and give full support to the multi-sport athlete.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 
    • Minimum of five years coaching experience preferred 
    • Ability to supervise and evaluate the coaching responsibilities of assistant baseball coaches.
    • High level of knowledge and skills in the principles and methods of baseball program operations, including a practice plan that has a high level of development.
    • Strong work ethic, energetic, enthusiastic, flexible.
    • Excellent communication which includes interactive social media experience.
    • Exhibit strong public relations which includes building relationships across the  spectrum of the school and the athletic community
    • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
